How To Format Stock Symbols In A Press Release

If your stock symbol and company name are not presented correctly within your press release, it may not be included in Google Finance or other financial news sites that include your stock symbol

(NOTE: this article only pertains to news about publicly held companies).

Here is how the company name and symbol needs to look within the press release:

press releases that contain Pink Sheet Stocks:
Company Name (Pink:SYMBOL)

press releases that contain OTC Stocks:
Company Name (OTCBB:SYMBOL)

press releases that contain NYSE Stocks:
Company Name (NYSE:SYMBOL)

press releases that contain NASDAQ Stocks:
Company Name (NASDAQ:SYMBOL)

More Important Details:

The company name must be exactly the same as what Google Finance has.
The company name must come immediately before the symbol, as our example shows.
The company name and symbol must be close the beginning of the first paragraph.
There should be no hyperlinks in the first paragraph.
